Amalgamating Companies

File an amalgamation application if you will be amalgamating two or more B.C. companies to become one new company. Companies must be in good standing and up-to-date with annual report filings. 

The Business Corporations Act allows for regular (long-form) amalgamations and vertical and horizontal (short-form) amalgamations. To determine the type of amalgamation that applies to your situation:

Note:  Despite section 269 of the Act, corporation must not amalgamate with a Community Contribution Company (C3) unless amalgamation results in an amalgamated C3.
