Criminal Record Check
Anyone who applies for a liquor licence in British Columbia must obtain a criminal record check. A criminal record check shows whether an applicant has been charged with and/or convicted of a criminal offence. If the applicant has a criminal record, we will look carefully at the circumstances of the individual case before deciding whether or not to continue with the liquor licence application process.
Note: Applicants who have applied for a liquor licence and obtained a criminal record check within the previous 12 months are exempt unless they are specifically requested to obtain another.
A criminal record check can be obtained from the RCMP or your local police.
