Appeal to a Board of Education

You cannot make an appeal to a Superintendent of Appeals until you have completed an appeal to your board of education.

Section 11(2) of the School Act says:

If a decision of an employee of a board significantly affects the education, health or safety of a student, the parent of the student or the student may, within reasonable time from the date that the parent or student was informed of the decision, appeal that decision to the board.

Under s. 11(3) of the School Act (PDF, 567KB), a board is required to establish a procedure for the purpose of hearing appeals.

Please contact your school district office for more information about the appeal process at the board level.
