Issue 16-74: Housing Starts

The number of housing starts in the province’s urban areas (10,000+ population) dipped 20.4% (seasonally adjusted) in March, partly reversing a considerable 61.3% jump in the previous month.

Nationally, starts were 7.0% lower, pulled down by decreased building activity in seven provinces. Declines ranged from 2.3% in Alberta to 71.5% in Nova Scotia.
