Issue 16-231: Housing Starts

The number of urban (areas with population of at least 10,000) housing starts in B.C. surged 72.7% in November to 44,000 units (seasonally adjusted at annual rates), more than reversing the decline recorded in October (-44.9%).

Nationally, housing starts dipped 5.0%, with B.C., Manitoba (+33.8%) and P.E.I (+32.8%) tempering decreases in all other regions, including Ontario (-31.9%).
