Issue 16-14: Retail Sales

Consumers opened their wallets wider as retail activity in the province climbed 1.8% (seasonally adjusted) in November.

Canada-wide, retail sales rose 1.7%, led by boosts among new car dealerships (+4.5%) and food and beverage stores (+1.5%). Sales were up in all provinces, with New Brunswick (+2.3%) and Ontario (+2.1%) registering the largest gains.
