BC Stats is on Twitter so we can engage with the public, and answer statistical questions about B.C.

Any information we receive through Twitter that is about an identifiable individual, is legally considered collected under section 26 the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Any information collected by BC stats is only for the purposes of engaging and consulting with the public.

To protect both your privacy, and the privacy of others, when commenting please do not include any personal information or the personal information of others, including but not limited to phone numbers, pictures and email addresses.

It’s also important to note that information on Twitter is not stored on servers belonging to the Government of British Columbia and may be stored and/or accessed on servers outside of Canada. If you have any questions about the collection of your personal information, you can contact:
