Social program officer (training level) 24

Last updated on April 18, 2024

BC Public Service social program officers may identify and analyse social problems, conditions and trends and plan and develop social programs and services.

The training level is intended for employees participating in initial job training activities such as the 20-week training program for new social program officer R24 workers at the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

Employees will be compensated at the training rate during the training (limited to no more than 6 months). After completion of training, employees move to the appropriate level of the growth model. Placement in the growth model is not a 'reclassification' for the purpose of salary treatment upon completion of the training phase.

Note: The training level is optional, and its use is at the discretion of the ministry. If the training level is used, employees should be placed in the level only for the duration of their training course, but in no circumstances should placement exceed 6 months.
